Sewing with Laminated Cotton

It’s easier than you think to see with laminated cotton. The matte finish coating stitches up like a dream! Try it.

People often ask me if sewing with Laminated Cotton is hard. It's not!
I sew with an industrial machine and it sews like butter. As easily as regular cotton.
I’ve heard that home sewers are helped with a teflon foot. I have found that since ours are Matte finish and not shiny, they go pretty smoothly thru the machine.
All purpose thread is fine.
Size 12 or 14  Sharp needles work best, and a long stitch length. I use “denim” needles.
The great thing about the laminated cotton is that the coating seals the edges and you don’t need to serge or finish it. It won’t unravel.
You CAN wash, dry and iron it. Instructions say iron low on back, but it will not melt on the front either.
Wrinkles can also be “relaxed” out with a hair dryer.
I have made hotpads out of it - you can put  hot things right on it out of the oven - YES!
I always caution that it cannot be left out in the hot sun. It is not UV resistant and will yellow over time. This warning is mostly for tablecloths.
Go for it! And keep in touch.
